Air pollution in Sofia today exceeds permissible levels 10 times

The air levels of fine particulate matter in Sofia are above the norm, which is 50 micrograms per 1 cubic meter, shows data from the civil association AirBG. The air is dirtiest in the western parts of the capital where the admissible rates are exceeded 5 to 10 times. Some of the southern regions of Sofia also have significantly dirtier air.

According to data from the website air.sofia.bg for the whole country, apart from Sofia, the air is currently of very poor quality also in Varna, Gorna Oryahovitsa and Vidin.
