PM Borissov discussed situation along borders with Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov held telephone conversations with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the European Council Charles Michel with a focus on the situation along the borders.

Boyko Borissov stressed that Bulgaria strictly keeps its commitments with regard to the protection of the EU’s external borders but that this cannot be the kernel of a lasting solution. He pointed out that in resolving the migrant problem, the principle of solidarity must be strictly abided by, and a dialogue conducted with all countries affected which are at the forefront of the migrant wave, including Turkey.
