The reported cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria are already 43, the head of the National Crisis Staff announced on Sunday morning. Patients admitted for hospital treatment are in stable condition and the number of deaths is still two. Commenting on the situation in the region, the head of the Ciris Staff pointed out that it is extremely serious in Greece, where the number of infected persons has increased from 190 to 228. In Albania, the cases are 38, in Bosnia and Herzegovina - 21, in Romania - 123, in North Macedonia - 19, in Serbia - 46.
Bulgarian authorities recommend not traveling to Spain and tightening border controls for our compatriots living there. The number of persons subjected to mandatory quarantine is increasing. The Ministry of the Interior takes more stringent measures for people arriving from abroad and forms groups to search for potentially infected persons.
Preparations of hospital facilities for coping with the coronavirus crisis are in full force. The volunteer recruitment campaign is delivering outstanding results at Alexandrovska Hospital in Sofia. A similar campaign is under way also at the National Military Academy in Sofia.
