Health Minister revokes mandatory wearing of masks in public places

Due to lack of public consensus,  Bulgaria's Health Minister Kiril Ananiev has revoked the order he issued on March 30 regarding the mandatory wearing of protective masks in outdoor and indoor public places. We strongly recommend that people should wear protective masks daily after leaving their homes. Wearing a mask is an opportunity to avoid the introduction of stricter restrictive measures, the minister said.

The Bulgarian cabinet has promised that the state will purchase 1 million safety masks for socially disadvantaged citizens and those unable to buy in shops and pharmacies. We have agreed on the shipment of 2 million masks from China and we expect them to arrive in a week, Ananiev said.
