In a letter to Bulgaria's Ministry of Tourism, the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association demands that the Sunny Beach resort on the Black Sea coast should be advertised as a resort for the treatment of people with pulmonary diseases. Today Sunny Beach is mostly popular as a party destination but 60 years ago it was created as a balneological resort, the association recalls.
Meanwhile, the Institute for Tourism Analysis and Assessment has made estimates that the losses for the tourism industry in March amounted to EUR 25 million /BGN 48 million/ and the predicted losses for April amount to EUR 33 million /65 million BGN/.
