In the period January 28 to April 5, a total of 15,899 COVID-19 tests were performed in Bulgarian laboratories, the Ministry of Health announced. As of April 6, two new laboratories will start operating in Sofia and the total number of official laboratories in the country becomes 9. We expect an increase in the number of patients, with all people with pneumonia and medical staff having to be examined. Expectations that coronavirus mortality rate would be 2-3% have not been justified as in Europe it has reached 5%, general Ventsislav Mutafchyiski, Head of the National Headquarters said. The only thing that gives results is physical distance and isolation, the general pointed out.
