Bulgaria needs to complete its trans-European corridors

Bulgaria has built up only 46 per cent of its share in the trans-European corridors. Construction should be completed by 2030, according to a report by the European Court of Auditors. The document was prepared after the auditors visited 4 countries in which the construction was financed with EU budget funds. 

The report states that, despite the new Danube bridge at Vidin-Calafat, travel time from Sofia to Bratislava has not been shortened due to the lack of suitable roads. Travel time to Bratislava via the bridge is one fourth longer than travelling via Serbia.
32% of the roads in Bulgaria are in poor condition, the report also reads.
