So far, 27,000 PCR tests have been carried out in Bulgaria, as far as we are aware of, said Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev, Director of the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. The goal is to do make 7,000 tests a week to reach 1 in every 1,000 Bulgarian citizens.

There are 3 priority groups for the testing. The first is medical staff - mainly first-line doctors and emergency teams. The second group are patients with lung conditions so they could be moved from passive to active monitoring. The third group is sick persons from the staff of companies connected with the national industry, Kantardzhiev said.
