Bulgaria and Albania with the lowest coronavirus mortality rates in Europe

Bulgaria and Albania are the two countries with the lowest number of Covid-19 related deaths in Europe. The death toll is 8 and 9, respectively, per 1 million citizens of the population, according to the Albanian Telegraphic Agency. The state media has quoted an interdisciplinary group at the Tirana Academy of Sciences that monitors the development of the pandemic. According to the Academy, the control over the infection in both countries is optimistic. Data shows that coronavirus mortality rate in Western Europe is several times higher than in Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
