Vitosha Park re-opens for visitors

The Sofia Municipality announced that Vitosha Nature Park will re-open for visits on May 3 after on May 1 Bulgaria's Minister of Health lifted the ban on visiting mountains, national parks and nature parks outide cities and towns.
Important guidelines:
  • Teams of the Sofia Municipality and the Municipal Police will organize traffic and parking of vehicles on the road from Dragalevtsi residential district to Morenite area and from Boyana residential district to the Golden Bridges, Vetrovala and Ofeliite areas;
  • The roads will be closed for vehicles between 11.00 am and 2.00 pm;
  • Areas for vehicles of people with disabilities and citizens in wheelchairs will be set up on the parking lot of Aleko Hut;
  • Citizens must keep a distance of at least 2.5 meters when walking in the mountain; 
  • Citizens are advised to use face masks or scarves while talking to other people;
  • Sitting on benches or in gazebos remains prohibited. Gathering in groups is also banned. Picnicking is allowed only for members of the same family;
  • The bus service to Vitosha remains suspended;
  • The huts on Vitosha mountain remain closed.
