The Bulgarian parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs adopted, at first reading, the amendments to the Health Act connected with the measures after the end of the state of emergency.

The amendments were supported by 14 votes, 7 Bulgarian Socialist Party MPs abstained. The amendments will empower the minister of health to determine the anti-epidemic measures after the state of emergency is lifted on 13 May. The concrete proposals will be made public on 11 May.

Some of the changes are connected with tourism. Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova announced that on 13 May the European Commission is to make recommendations regarding the industry, concerning the opening of borders and the reimbursement of money from bookings.

The texts are to be discussed in plenary.
