Bulgaria to build 100 state-run gas stations

Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov

The Bulgarian state will seek own financing for the construction of state-run gas stations, announced today Bulgaria's Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov, after an extraordinary meeting in the Council of Ministers. At the meeting, the government considered a draft decision approving a bill amending the Law on State Reserves and Wartime Stocks.

The government plans to establish a state-run oil company which will be in charge of building petrol stations throughout the country. The aim is to improve market competition and ensure the lowest possible prices for consumers.
With the establishment of the oil company, the state will give access to tax warehouses to all traders on the market and will control all private entities with tax warehouses.
