Ban on citizens of EU and Schengen countries entering Bulgaria has been lifted

As of May 22, the ban on citizens of the EU and Schengen countries (including San Marino, Andorra, Monaco and the Vatican) to enter the territory of Bulgaria is lifted, by a new order issued by Bulgaria's Healthcare Minister.

- There is no ban also for citizens cohabiting with Bulgarian citizens, permanent residents, or persons residing long-term or continuously on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and the members of their families.
- There is no ban for foreigners who exercise urgent medical, diplomatic, humanitarian, transport and other activities related to the performance of their official duties.
- The provisions for transit movement through the territory of Bulgaria remain unchanged.
- The incoming Bulgarian and European citizens will not be quarantined when their stay in the country is up to 7 days. All others are subject to a 14-day home quarantine.
- The persons who are not placed under quarantine, as well as the persons who pass in transit through the territory of the country, shall submit to the border health authorities a declaration according to a sample.
