National march "In the footsteps of Tanyu Voivoda" starts from Bulgaria's Tutrakan

The 35th national march entitled "In the footsteps of Tanyo Voivoda" has started from the town of Tutrakan. Due to the epidemic restrictions, 30 people are taking part in the march, who will walk the entire path covered the by detachment of revolutionaries led by Tanyu Voivoda until June 2. 

A virtual group for the national marches on the path of Hristo Botev and Tanyo Voyvoda has been created on Facebook. More than 20,000 people participate in the group. 

On May 17, 1876, 6 hours before Botev's detachment set foot on the Kozloduy shore of the Danube, 28 rebels led by the voivode Tanyo Kurtev crossed the Danube and also set foot on Bulgarian soil. This is the second detachment of the Bulgarian emigration to Romania, created at the suggestion of ​​Hristo Botev for the liberation of Bulgaria. 
The path of the detachment lasted 11 days.
