At the moment, the Bulgarian border is calm and there is no migrant pressure, although after the warming of the weather there have been separate attempts of groups to enter Bulgarian territory. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Krassimir Karakachanov. According to him, illegal migration is always a potential danger and it continues to other countries in Europe. For the time being, the Border Police manages to control the situation and does not allow the passage illegal migrants on Bulgarian territory, it is not necessary to send the army, but in case of need it can always be sent, he added.
Despite the crisis caused by Covid-19, money for projects and salaries in the army will not be reduced, Karakachanov said.
