Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva has been questioned in the case of trading in influence, in which presidential adviser Plamen Uzunov and businessman Plamen Bobokov testified.

Zaharieva's interrogation on June 24th was linked to published chats between Bobokov and Uzunov about ambassadorial appointments to Nigeria and Algeria. Minister Zaharieva said Bobokov had requested a meeting with her and suggested that specific people be appointed ambassadors to countries where he had permanent business. "There is nothing criminal in requesting a meeting with a representative of a state institution," Bobokov's lawyer Ina Lulcheva commented on the information.
