PM Boyko Borissov held a video conference call with the President of the European Council Charles Michel to discuss the Covid-19 recovery plan, and the EU 7-year budget.

The same subjects will dominate the first in-person meeting of the leaders in Brussels in 17 and 18 July. Boyko Borissov pointed out that the European Commission draft is very balanced in view of the challenges raised by the pandemic. To Bulgaria it is important that the Cohesion and Common Agricultural Policy remain at the levels proposed. The EU's Just Transition Fund to clean energy should be more flexible in encouraging and developing green energy capacities, the Bulgarian PM said.
