On the instructions of Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zahrieva, the Bulgarian Embassy in London sent a diplomatic note to the British cabinet to demand an explanation why Bulgaria is excluded from the list of countries for which travel restrictions and mandatory quarantine will be lifted as of July 10. Minister Zaharieva talked with Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for European Neighborhood and the Americas Wendy Morton and asked her about the decision of the UK. The diplomatic note seeks clarification of the criteria on which the decision of London is based, because other countries included in the list have higher incidence of Covid-19. Practically, Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast is coronavirus- free zone and has already attracted thousands of tourists from over 35 countries, the diplomatic note reads.
