The chief of the National Service for Protection, Gen. Krasimir Stanchev, has resigned after his resignation was requested earlier today by President Rumen Radev.

President Radev's request was motivated by the letters sent by the NSP to the responsible institutions for restricting the access of citizens to Rosenets Park, the press office of the head of state announced.
Earlier, the ruling GERB party demanded the resignation of the head of the National Service for Protection, and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov announced at an emergency briefing that it was the service that demanded a ban on the sailing of ships and land access to Rosenets park where the summer residence of honorary MRF chairman Ahmed Dogan is located until September 15.
