MPs from the Parliamentary group of BSP for Bulgaria have submitted a motion of no-confidence against the cabinet headed by Premier Boyko Borissov. This is the fifth motion of no-confidence against the current government submitted by the opposition and is again over corruption. In 2018 the Bulgarian Socialist Party submitted another motion of no-confidence over corruption. The other three motions of no-confidence were submitted over the government’s policy in security, healthcare and environment and water sectors. This time the motion of no-confidence coincides with the anti-government protests in Sofia and other Bulgarian towns. The debates on the motion of no-confidence must begin 3 days after its submission at the earliest and the voting itself is held 24 hours after the debates in plenary.
