“There are two options – a new government within this parliament and this majority, or early elections,” said Deputy Prime Minister Krasimir Karakachanov. “It is a matter of negotiation within the ruling coalition whether current Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will retain his post. A programme is needed for the next 7-8 months, with measures set down for each day - for the economy, for overcoming impoverishment as a result of coronavirus. The alternative is early elections, a fragmented parliament, at risk of not being able to form a government, new elections and another 10-11 months of caretaker cabinets. The economy will not pull through, and the losses will, again, be for the man in the street,” Krasimir Karakachanov said.
