The Sofia Regional Prosecutor’s Office will seek indefinite detention for four men who threw glass bottles and cans against Interior Ministry officers during the anti-government protest on 14 July.

The prosecutor’s office’s motive is the high public risk of the offenders’ actions in exceptionally volatile social circumstances and circumstances of expression of discontent. The Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior announced that 8 people have been detained at yesterday’s protest with the aim of preventing an escalation of the situation.
