Valeri Simeonov, leader of the National Front for the Salvation of Bulgaria announced that the ruling coalition has made the decision to reduce, considerably, the money for the power system’s cold reserve. This will take place by order of Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova.
In the words of Valeri Simeonov the state has serious suspicions that the money paid to maintain the cold reserve is being misused. He explained that the state is paying millions but that in exchange for this money some energy producers are doing practically nothing and cannot ensure the emergency start-up of additional capacities. According to Valeri Simeonov, the cold reserve is a form of siphoning off of the state budget.
