EU tourists can enter Bulgaria from Greece through Kulata and Makaza checkpoints

As of July 22, the Greek border authorities do not allow the passage in both directions of all types of vehicles, including trucks, through the border checkpoint Ilinden-Exohi, Kapitan Petko Voyvoda-Ormenion and Ivaylovgrad-Kyprinos, the Border Police reports. The ban will be valid until August 4, 2020.
Trucks can pass only via the Kulata-Promachonas border checkpoint, and light trucks up to 3.5 tonnes are allowed to pass via Makaza-Nimfea border checkpoint.
The entry of tourists from Bulgaria into Greece is possible only through the border checkpoint at Kulata-Promachonas with a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus, made in the last 72 hours before the arrival in Greece. The document must be in issued in English, with the passenger's name and surname, passport number or ID card. 
Tourists can enter Bulgaria from Greece through the border checkpoints at Kulata and Makaza.
The entry and exit of holders of residence permits and urgent business trips across the land border with Bulgaria is carried out only through the border checkpoints Kulata-Promachonas and Makaza-Nimfea. The reason for the trip needs to be proven with the relevant documents. 
Owners of properties in Greece are also required to show residence permit at Makaza checkpoint.
