Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev ready to present report on prosecutor's office’s activities in parliament

Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev has informed the President of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva, by letter, that he is ready to present the activities of the prosecutor’s office, as required by the constitution.

In the letter, posted on the prosecutor’s office website, Ivan Geshev writes that he can present summary information covering the first six months of 2020 at the beginning of August. If parliament requires him to present a report covering the months from January until September he is ready to present it in October.

By a National Assembly decision from today requesting a parliamentary hearing of the prosecutor general, the MPs obligated him to prepare a report on the activities of the prosecutor’s office for the period January-August 2020.
