Ultra-marathoner Vladimir Stavrev has started his 721-km run on the route "Danube Ultra", parallel to the Danube, starting from the village of Kudelin and ending at the village of Durankulak on the Black Sea coast. The marathoner has passed the town of Mizia, and before that Vidin, Dunavtsi, Lom, Kozloduy and others, according to the website of the organizers from "Danube Ultra".
It is expected that Stavrev would need a week to pass the distance. The ultra-marathon is a personal challenge for the Bulgarian long-distance runner as he wants to successfully complete the longest tourist route in Bulgaria - the Danube Ultra cycling route. The cause of the run is to promote over 100 settlements along the route. The organizers' website includes a map for monitoring Stavrev's movement online, BTA has reported.
