Heart and liver transplant operations have been performed in Bulgaria for the first time since January and after the beginning of the Covid-19 epidemic. In the hospitals of St. Ekaterina and Lozenets in Sofia, a 49-year-old man received a new heart and a 16-year-old girl had a liver transplant.
The two transplantations became possible after a donor situation in Pleven with a 25-year-old man who suffered brain death, the Medical Supervision Executive Agency announced.
