BNR and BNT comply with requirement for pluralism: Council for Electronic Media

The pluralism of points of views in each of the news and current affairs programs covering political and economic topics is observed by the public broadcasters- the Bulgarian National Television and the Bulgarian National Radio, the monitoring report of the Council for Electronic Media on Horizont channel of BNR and BNT1 covering the period July 18- 24 reads.  According to the monitoring, the topic of civil protests was gradually declining in volume, yet it continues to be central to the news and the current affairs programs. Protests are covered by special broadcasts, breaking news and live broadcasts from the National Assembly and the rallies in front of the National Assembly building are present in the radio and television content, the report further reads. The participation of experts and political observers in the broadcasts acquaints the audience with the socio-political events and trends in the development of the Bulgarian democratic process. Moreover, BNR and BNT acquaint their audience with the official position of the state on important societal issues, the report reads.
