Antigovernment protests in Bulgaria continue

Antigovernment protests continue in Bulgaria for the 35th consecutive day. Barricades built by protesting citizens on key intersections in front of the Sofia University, Eagles’ Bridge and Independence square remain. Protesters are motivated “to awaken the Bulgarian people” and hope that Premier Borissov “would hear the voice of the people”. A protest car rally is expected to be held this evening in Veliko Tarnovo. Protesters will drive to Tsarevets Fortress and back. Protesters are expected to block traffic in the town later. In Plovdiv and Varna protests continue with traditional street processions and blockades of major streets. Earlier, a car rally blocked temporarily traffic at Trakia motorway.
