Boyko Borissov is trying to gain time, in order to remain in power until the end of the term of office of the current National Assembly. This is how Hristo Ivanov, Co-chairman of Democratic Bulgaria, commented Premier Borissov’s latest proposals in an interview for BNR. In his view, the most important thing is absent in Premier Borissov’s proposal- “a sufficiently serious reform of the status of the Prosecutor General”. “Borissov’s proposal does not guarantee that Ivan Geshev would hand in his resignation and that such types of Prosecutors General will be impossible in the future”, Hristo Ivanov says. In Hristo Ivanov’s words, Borissov does not want to get into this topic and talks about reduction of the number of MPs instead. “The real way out of the situation is a clear assumption of responsibility, resignation of Premier Borissov and Prosecutor General Geshev and early Parliamentary elections”, Hristo Ivanov said and added that “the current National Assembly is devoid of substance and expertise”.
