Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev convenes national prosecutors’ conference

Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev is convening a national conference in Sofia bringing together 700 prosecutors and examining magistrates.

The conference is scheduled for 24 August, and the topic is “Upholding the independence of the Bulgarian prosecutor’s office with a view to averting the risk of grave violation of the rule of law, in accordance with Article 7 of the Treaty on European Union,” the BNR’s Horizont channel reports.

Article 7 of the Treaty on European Union is a procedure in the treaties of the EU to suspend certain rights from a member state.
