There is a saying in Bulgaria that no one is bigger than bread. To this day, dear guests are greeted with bread and salt in this country. That is why children go back decades and knead bread, like their grandmothers during the summer initiative “Family Saturdays” of the Ethnographic Museum in Dolna Oryahovitsa.
“It was very interesting to learn how to roll pastry and make different forms with dough”, one of the children who participated at the event said. “We often knead pita bread at home. Thus, children get acquainted with the Bulgarian customs and traditions”, a parent added.
