“Bulgaria insists on the elaboration of uniform criteria among countries regarding international travel, so as not to close borders and introduce quarantine from one day to the next. Things must not be allowed to revert to the situation in March when people waited at borders,” said Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva for BNT.

Minister Zaharieva stated that Bulgaria is continuing its efforts with the Greek government for opening all border check points along the land border between the two counties. Ekaterina Zaharieva added that as yet Greece has not asked for Bulgaria’s help after the fire which destroyed the Moria refugee camp on the island of Lesbos. She reiterated the imperative need of a uniform EU decision on the migrant crisis and the refuge issue.
