Second Grand National Uprising passes without tension

The 64th day of antigovernment protests in Bulgaria passed without accidents. Protesters blocked temporarily several interesections in Sofia during the rally held under the motto Grand National Uprising 2. Thousands of demonstrators waved Bulgarian flags and shone phone lights. In a press release, the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior thanked the citizens who expressed their position peacefully and did not allow any provocations during the protest.

On Thursday night residents of the Danube city of Ruse blocked traffic near Danube Bridge border crossing at the Bulgaria-Romania border until 8 pm. They  protested against air pollution in the city.

Antigovernment rally was held in Veliko Tarnovo as well. The procession took place at the central street.
