40th Bulgarian military contingent in Kandahar ends mission

At an official ceremony held near Kandahar airport in Afghanistan, service members of the 40th national military contingent were presented with medals for their participation in the NATO Resolute Support operation, the Ministry of Defence has announced.

Brigadier General Eastman, Train Advise Assist Command – South, thanked the Bulgarian contingent and expressed confidence that the next contingent will continue to represent the Bulgarian armed forces to the same high standards.

160 Bulgarian service members from a security company, a team of advisers and staff officers have been providing security and control of traffic and communications at Kandahar airport in the course of 6 months, BTA reports.
