“A resignation at this time involves risks for the economic situation in the country which is going to deteriorate. There are no guarantees that after elections a government will be formed quickly, or that a government will be formed at all,” said GERB party MP Toma Bikov for the BNR. He reiterated the government’s position that there must be regular and not early elections. In his words, GERB’s position is motivated by the wish to prepare, in the coming months, the next fiscal and economic year for all citizens.
Commenting on recent social surveys which show that GERB is hemorrhaging voter support, Bikov stated that the situation is very dynamic and there is absolutely no certainty that this will be proved true during during elections.
