NSI reports zero inflation for August 2020

Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute registered 0% monthly inflation in August. The consumer price index increased by 1.2% as compared to the same month in 2019, BNR reporter Marta Mladenova informs.

In August this year fuel prices went up 2% as compared to July, statistics further show. Prices of transport services also saw slight increase. Prices of medicines increased slightly as well in August. However, prices of clothing and foods, especially fruits and vegetables fell last month. Inflation between January and August was negative to the tune of -0.5%.

In July, the average insurable earnings in Bulgaria were EUR 541, NSI further announced.
