Antigovernment protests are expected to be held in Bulgaria for the 83rd consecutive day despite the heavy autumn rain.
On the 82nd day of antigovernment protests demonstrators demanded the resignation of Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova as well. They also called for electronic and machine voting, early Parliamentary elections and changes to the Constitution. The organizers of the rally commented the newly-established party "Republicans for Bulgaria" headed by GERB’s former Deputy Chairperson Tsvetan Tsvetanov. The organizers commented that “These two parties will be again one family in the next National Assembly”, BNR reports.
One of the leaders of the antigovernment protests said that more than 700 letters have been sent to MEPs “to inform them how European funds are stolen in Bulgaria”. Traditionally, the protest ended with a procession to Eagles’ Bridge.
