The Embassy of the Russian Federation to Sofia called the position of the USA, according to which the energy projects in Bulgaria do not provide energy diversification to this country, far-fetched.

“As far as we know, Bulgaria is expanding its gas-transmission system at the expense of its own funds, driven by its national interests and in full compliance with European legislation, in order to provide technical opportunities for diversification of the energy sources in this country”, the position of the Russian Embassy published on the social networks reads. “Through the branched gas transmission network, the Bulgarian partners create a competitive environment for fuel suppliers which favors end consumers”, the embassy further notes.
