“Even though the number of coronavirus hospitalizations has been going up, there is no danger to the healthcare system over Covid-19,” said Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov, the BNR reports. “The system has enough hospital beds and medical staff. Over the past few days we have seen a rise by around 1% in hospital bed occupancy – from 10% to 11%. The increase in intensive care units is from 4 to 4.8%. These figures provide the assurance, at this time, that we need not to alter the measures in Bulgaria,” Minister Angelov said.

He added that the medical specialists fighting against the infection on the frontline will continue to receive their additional 500 euro as long as the emergency epidemic situation lasts.
