Bid for new infantry machines could fail

The defense budget might be updated or the procedure for the new infantry machines might be terminated, chairman of the parliamentary defense committee Konstantin Popov, has announced, BNR reported.

After the opening of the offers of the two companies "General Dynamics" and "Patria", information leaked that offers exceed the price of 750,000 euros set by Bulgaria.

The Ministry of Defense must assess clearly the risks of stopping or postponing modernization or come back to parliament and request a change in the parameters of the project for investment costs. This is a difficult decision, Popov said.
