In order for Bulgaria to comply with international standards, changes in the election law are needed. This was said in an interview with BNR by Vanya Nusheva, program director at Transparency International on the occasion of the forthcoming discussion in Sofia today on the topic: "Fundamentals of Democracy: Transparency in financing political activity and integrity of the electoral process in Bulgaria".

According to Nusheva, among the most serious problems in the election process are the high share of organizational irregularities, vote buying and controlled voting. According to her, the combination of machine and paper voting in the same section is meaningless.
