Following a recommendation of the European Commission, Bulgaria’s National Assembly adopted amendments to the Law on Asylum of Refugees. Foreign nationals who applied for international protection will resister at the State Agency for Refugees within 3 days. If foreign nationalя fail to present a personal document, an expertise will be performed to establish their age. If there is no clearly established age, the applicant is considered a minor. The “Safe Third Country” concept is also changed and the origin of a foreign national from such country is not a ground for rejecting the application.
