There will be no rise in number of American forces in Bulgaria

During the talks of Bulgarian Minister of Defense Krassimir Karakachanov in the USA, no additional deployment of American forces in Bulgaria was discussed, the Chief of Defense Adm. Emil Eftimov told BNT. Commenting on the roadmap for cooperation between Bulgaria and the United States in the sphere of defense, signed during last week's visit to Washington Adm. Eftimov pointed out that it outlines general directions for future joint work, but not specific projects.

With good leasing schemes, it is possible for Bulgaria to simultaneously buy 150 new infantry vehicles and 8 more F-16 fighters. This option for combining the two deals is being discussed in the Ministry of Defense, the website 24chasa.bg writes.
