Nearly 30,000 Bulgarian farmers receive Covid-19 compensations

Nearly 30,000 farmers have received a total of EUR 30 million under the extraordinary measure which aims to provide compensations for the damages stemming from Covid-19, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov wrote on the social networks.

Bulgaria is the EU country which initiated changes to the regulation that enabled the launch of this emergency measure for compensation of losses incurred due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In Premier Borissov’s words, a total of 53 EUR was earmarked to support Bulgarian farmers and processors of agricultural produce.
