Presidents of Bulgaria and North Macedonia discuss bilateral relations

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and the President of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski discussed, in a telephone conversation, the positions of the two countries on the start of EU accession negotiations by the Republic of North Macedonia. Options were sought for attaining a sustainable solution, the presidential press service announced. The two presidents also discussed a visit by Stevo Pendarovski to Bulgaria at an appropriate time.

Prior to that the spokesperson for the government of North Macedonia Dusko Arsovski stated that the 2017 Agreement on Friendship and Good Neighbourhood with Bulgaria was a good basis and framework for continuing the negotiations, and that the two countries did not need any annexes to the document, the BTA reports.
