Preparation is also underway for signing a cooperation agreement between the two countries' chambers of commerce. In 2019, Bulgarian exports to Palestine were worth $ 800,000, and for the first half of 2020 - $ 400,000.

Minister Zaharieva assured her counterpart that Palestine was included as a priority country in Bulgaria's Medium-Term Program for Official Assistance in the field of Education for the period 2020-2024. Zaharieva pointed out that so far 5,000 Palestinians have graduated from Bulgarian universities.
For his part, Riyad al-Malki expressed gratitude for Bulgaria's support, which assists Palestinian students at Bulgarian universities with scholarships.
Ekaterina Zaharieva and Riyadh al-Maliki also discussed the Middle East peace process. Zaharieva testified to the importance that Bulgaria attaches to relations with Palestine and Israel and to finding a peaceful solution to the conflict between them. "We are friends of both countries.
