Winners of this year’s Sofia Marathon suspended from all racing for doping

The winners of this year’s Sofia Marathon Viktoriia Khapilina, Ukraine and Youssef Sbaa, Morocco have been provisionally suspended from all racing for doping violations, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) reports.

“The news is a clear message to all who intend to compete by deception and dishonest means. Together with our partners, sponsors and the city authorities, we remain committed to fair play and doping-free sports. The marathon organizers will wait for the final decision of World Athletics before re-ranking the participants and the prizes for the winners,” the organizers of yhe marathons announced.
