The feeling of chaos in the healthcare system is not true. We are working in a special situation of a pandemic, Dr. Boyko Penkov, Deputy Minister of Health, told the BNR. He said that as a doctor he was on the front lines during epidemics, but flu epidemics, and the situation was just as terrible as now.

Penkov added that the problem is not with the hospital structures, but with the staff. "Our doctors and nurses are older, they have chronic health conditions, they are afraid for themselves and their loved ones," said the Deputy Minister.

Penkov assured that he would suggest that patients with symptoms should be admitted to the hospital even without a positive PCR test in order to reduce the number of deaths due to untimely hospital care.
