For four years now, a total of 1,054 school students have been part of the IT Career Training programme for the specialty "Applied Programmer", the press centre of the Bulgaria Ministry of Education and Science has reported. The IT business, vocational high schools and universities cooperate in the programme.

So far, 181 of the graduates of the programme have stated that they will stay in the country and will continue their studies with a university degree in IT, and 120 of them already work in IT companies.
The training starts in the 10th grade and lasts for three years, as the learning materials are developed by a group of experts working in the IT sector, together with teachers from secondary and higher schools.
The partners in the national programme provide internships in companies in the software industry, the Ministry of Education and Science has announced.
